Worship Minister

Categories Bible Expires: 4th June, 2024 New Mexico

The Church

At University Community Church (UCC) we firmly believe that “Jesus Changes Everything” and we are passionate about helping everyone experience that truth for themselves.  UCC is a church of 400+ people where every generation comes together because of Jesus to reach the next generation for Jesus. We are strategically located across the street from a major state University (NMSU) and we take seriously our mission to help spread Jesus’ name and fame to college students and young adults.

As it pertains to worship, we are passionate about leading people into the presence of God and creating dynamic musical experiences that will change lives forever. We are not content to simply play a few songs before a sermon. Instead, just as David said in Psalm 42, our souls "thirst for the living God." If you're passionate about building a culture where the presence of God is honored, then please prayerfully consider applying. This unique role requires a dynamic leader with a heart for worship and for people, and someone who views this role not as primarily a musical one, but as a spiritual leader whose context is music.  This role also requires that in addition to leading our worship ministry, the candidate will also oversee our A/V, media, and communications ministries.

A little bit about us...

At the beginning of 2023 we finalized a name change and stepped out in faith as an independent, community church. This decision has resulted in incredible growth and places us in an exciting season of ministry. We have seen dozens of new families and young adults attend our worship gatherings and we were fortunate enough to baptize over 30 people in 2023.

Our worship minister is a key member of the ministry staff will play a pivotal role in helping us to be good stewards of the people God has sent to us, and Lord willing, will help us reach even more people in the city.

A little bit about our structure...

This position will be overseen by our Lead Pastor and will work closely with the rest of the pastoral staff along with a team of dynamic volunteer musicians, singers, sound engineers, and technical assistants. We strive to operate as one large ministry team, as opposed to each serving in our individual ministry silos. We currently offer two separate worship gatherings on Sunday mornings– a more traditional acapella worship gathering (8:30am) along with our main contemporary worship gathering (10:30am). The worship minister is not required to lead or assist with our acapella service but we would absolutely love if they wanted to jump in and help us make that service as dynamic as possible.  The worship minister would also work in close partnership with our college minister in leading our mid-week college worship gathering (AFC) where close to 100+ students come together throughout the school year.
