Pine Tree Children’s Ministry

Birth – 6th grade:  estimate of 80 families 

• Preschool (birth-PreK) – 46 children 
• Elementary (K-4thgrade) – 56 children
• Bridge 56 (5th/6th grade) – 28 children
  • Preschool: 36-40 children

Sunday morning average attendance:

• Elementary: 50-52 children
• Bridge 56: 15-20 children

Children’s Ministry Dynamics: 

• 7 - 8 school districts that feed into our children’s ministry from Longview and surrounding communities
• A diverse group with a combination of kids from both the Pine Tree church and the Pine Tree Hispanic church

Pine Tree Children’s Ministry Activities include some of the following:

• Prayer Walk (January)
• Easter Egg Hunt (March/April)
• Summer Kick-off (June)
• Vacation Bible School (June)
• Camp Deer Run Pee Wee camp (taking a group of 5-8yr olds to and from CDR each day for 4 days) – (July)
• Bingo Night (July)
• Back to School Bash (August)
• Kindergarten Kick-off Brunch (end of August)
• Fall Fest (October)
• Christmas Program (December)
• Christmas Movie Night or Breakfast with Santa (December)
• Baby Blessing/Dedication (twice a year)
• Bible Bookmark or Daily Bible Reading incentive program (quarterly)
• Bridge 56 monthly devotionals
• Bridge 56 events (Christmas party, fellowship/game night, Kick-off party)
• 7th grade entry banquet with youth group (June)
• We would welcome the leadership and creativity of the new Children’s Minister

Children’s Minister Responsibilities:

• Nursery coordinating (finding volunteers to attend our two nurseries on a weekly rotation)
• Children’s Church coordinating (finding volunteers on a monthly rotation as well as preparing a lesson outline)
• Greeting families and making sure children receive their check-in tag each week
• Providing Worship Notes and Busy Bag supplies
• Preparing lessons and providing materials for Bible class each week (Sundays and Wednesdays)
• Finding teachers and helpers on a quarterly basis
• Finding substitutes for all areas on occasion when the need arises
• Weekly communication with parents by email 
• Facebook posts for events or important announcements
