History and Affiliation: SOLID Christian Church is an independent Christian Church planted in Holton, Kansas in January of 2020.  The church is rooted in the American Restoration Movement of the early 1800’s and connected to the Christian Church and Churches of Christ movement.  As Thomas Campbell stated in the Declaration and Address, “The Bible alone is our guidance for matters of doctrine, structure and practice.  Where the Scriptures speak, we speak; where the scriptures are silent, we are silent.” Our church focuses on the unity of believers through faith in Jesus Christ and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. 

Reporting: SOLID is governed by an official board that is led by the Sr. Minister.  The YM will report directly to the Sr. Minister of the church.

Weekly Average Attendance Range: SOLID CC is a steadily growing church.  Right now, we currently average 80-100 congregants per week.  However, we have several successful ministries that generate numerous elementary, middle school and high school individuals. 

Responsibilities: Some of the responsibilities are listed below but are not exhaustive.

• The YM will work closely with the Senior Minister by providing administrative and ministerial support to the body of believers.
• The YM will teach regular lessons for our children’s programs.  They will teach a Sunday School Class, A Children’s Church Lesson during the Sunday Service, a lesson for our Wednesday after school program (“The Way”), and a Middle School and a High School Youth Group Lesson.  Possibilities of occasional preaching, recorded devotions, and leading small groups can be also included depending on the candidates’ gifts. 
• The YM will help provide outreach and evangelism to our community in Christ-centered organizations and events.  This will include attending major community and school-related events to foster discipleship.

Job Requirements

Requirements: The following requirements are needed by potential candidates.

• The applicant must be called by God into the ministry and have a deep desire to help SOLID CC fulfill its church’s vision and goals, while being faithful to the statement of faith.  (Please see our website https://solidinchrist.com, “What We Believe”). 
• It is preferred that the applicant hold a bachelor’s degree from a Bible College in a ministry related field, and from a Restoration college. However, candidates that are working toward this goal will be considered.
• The applicant must be teachable, have a desire to spiritually grow in their faith and abilities, and must be a highly motivated individual.
• The applicant must have great teaching, evangelistic, and interpersonal skills.
• The applicant must have great organization and management skills.

Job Benefits

Basic Salary Package: The YM will be given a starting salary package of $30,000 but can increase depending on credentials and experience.  Opportunities for positional advancement, and financial raises are available and are dependent upon the periodic reviews of the S.M. and the Official Board.  Further, if the candidate desires to have bivocational status, arrangements can be worked out.
