Overview
The A/V & IT Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Audio/Visual ministry and office IT systems at VLC. This role includes leadership, team development, budgeting, content creation, live production, and technical support for both worship services and day-to-day operations. The A/V Director will work closely with the Creative Team, various ministries, volunteers, and staff to ensure high-quality media production and reliable IT across all church buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise A/V volunteers and Team Coordinators, managing schedules and conducting regular performance reviews to ensure effective service coverage and ongoing development.
  • Manage the A/V ministry budget, maintain documentation of systems, and oversee inventory, maintenance, and upgrades of A/V equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to develop cohesive sermon series themes, produce high-quality audio/video content, and create engaging A/V materials for various ministries and events.
  • Oversee live production of weekly services and events, assess A/V needs, maintain equipment, and implement improvements to ensure seamless and high-quality experiences.
  • Oversee and maintain A/V technology across all church buildings, ensuring functionality of presentation and sound systems, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT issues, managing office equipment, troubleshooting technology, and coordinating with third-party support to ensure staff have the necessary tools for efficient work.

Job Requirements

  • Proficiency in software troubleshooting to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • In-depth knowledge of a wide range of A/V systems, equipment, and production processes.
  • Commitment to excellence, ensuring high-quality work in all aspects of A/V and IT operations.
  • Team-oriented with strong leadership abilities, while also demonstrating personal initiative and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A servant-hearted attitude, dedicated to supporting the church’s mission and ministry.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and the congregation.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Google Drive, Planning Center, Pro Presenter, and Final Cut Pro, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
