Youth Minister Position
General Duties
Purpose: To strengthen the virtue, knowledge and faith our students in grades 6-12, so
that they develop Christian love and unity through action, fulfill God’s purpose and
calling, experience God’s grace and grow in the knowledge of Jesus.
1. Serve as the Chairman of the Youth Committee. Develop, supervise and coordinate
youth activities for our students that foster Christian fellowship and Spiritual
Formation.
2. Plan and organize youth activities, such as workdays, service events, special meals,
devotionals and prayer meetings.
3. Plan and organize special youth activities, such as Leadership Training for Christ,
VBS, mission trips, retreats, Banquet for Widows, Widowers, and Senior Couples,
and summer camps (not an exhaustive list).
4. Conduct youth activities with other congregations as opportunities arise.
Pastoral Duties
Purpose: To edify and exhort our students who are members of the Marble Falls
church family and to encourage others to become members of the Marble Falls church
Family.
1. Conduct individual bible studies with members and non-members as opportunities arise.
2. Counsel student members and non-members as needed.
3. Visit in homes of families with students or have such families in your home.
4. Visit youth in crisis and in hospitals as needed.
Educational Duties
Purpose: To provide a learning environment where God's word is taught to all ages in a
clear, concise, and complete manner.
1. Serve on the Education Committee. Help coordinate the curriculum for all classes
and programs. Assure that all curriculum is biblically based, relevant, useful and
coordinated to provide a balanced overview of God's word.
2. Plan and coordinate bible classes for Junior High and High School.
3. Prepare lessons that are biblical, relevant, and challenging.
4. Teach classes generally on all Sundays and Wednesdays as assigned.Pulpit Duties
Administrative Duties
Purpose: To conduct various day-to-day business activities of the Church.
1. Serve as a member of the Administration, Education, Local Evangelism and Outreach and Worship Committees. Attend all meetings and participate as needed.
2. Meet and coordinate with the staff and elders as directed.
3. Submit to the decisions of the elders on all matters of opinion.
4. Coordinate all duties and activities with other staff ministers as needed.
5. Perform other duties as assigned and agreed to by the elders and Senior Minister.
Addendum to Marble Falls Church of Christ Job Description:
For the candidate who has aspirations to transition to the pulpit, there will be an
opportunity to do so. Greg Neill, the current pulpit minister will retire from the
position in 2029. The details of the transition are still being formulated.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree, preferably in theology or ministry.
