Youth Minister Position - Join our Family

Waverly church of Christ is seeking a full-time Youth Minister to direct a Christ-centered ministry. We are a conservative congregation rooted in New Testament Christianity, committed to biblical authority, acappella worship, and baptism by immersion. Our youth group is full of potential under the direction of a motivated candidate. We are looking for a leader who can grow that program spiritually, relationally, and numerically. This position will serve under the elders of the Waverly congregation.

Responsibilities

• Lead youth weekly Bible studies, devotionals, and/or fellowship activities
• Organize service projects, retreats, camps, and outreach events
• Mentor youth individually and/or in groups
• Build relationships with youth, parents, and volunteers
• Find ways to be active in the community
• Collaborate with elders and teachers to align ministry goals
• Encourage intergenerational connections
• Lead Vacation Bible School and congregational events
• Track participation and evaluate ministry effectiveness

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Faithful Christian attending a church of Christ congregation with values that align with the mission and vision of the Waverly church of Christ.
• Degree in Bible, youth ministry, education, or related field - Preferable but not required
• Experience working with youth in church settings (preferably 2+ years)
• Effective communication, organization, and relational skills
• High moral character providing a Christ-like example
• Enthusiastic willingness to collaborate closely with elders, parents, and volunteers
• Background check and references will be required from successful applicants
