Youth Minister

Western Hills Church of Christ is looking for a full-time student minister to lead our middle and high school students. You will have freedom to create and develop a youth ministry based on your unique gifts and skills under the guidance of a flexible eldership. We are looking for someone who can continue to develop an established core of teenagers who are seeking what it means to be more Christlike.

Job Requirements

As the student minister, you will have a lot of flexibility to develop a youth program that not only highlights your own strengths and giftings but also allows implementation of ideas that God has placed on your heart. With that being said, the following is a list of responsibilities that we would expect as you map out this ministry:

Prioritize your own spiritual well-being. We know this will look different for everyone but we understand that you cannot effectively lead a youth ministry if you are not being spiritually fulfilled as well.
Work in tandem with our Children and Family Minister to start building relationships with future teens and families, continue to develop a family ministry concept, and continue our journey to become a more intergenerational church.
Attend and participate in bi-monthly elders’ meetings.
Teach and/or facilitate Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Bible classes in coordination with the education director.
Support and assist the parents in the process of discipling their youth.
Plan or seek opportunities to participate in activities to help our youth grow closer to God and to each other spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and/or socially. Activities may include things like summer camps, fall and/or spring retreats with area churches, mission trips, etc.
Develop relationships with the youth and their families by supporting activities outside of the church as your schedule allows.
