Job Description

The Associate Minister of Students and Families provides spiritual leadership for the church's ministries from birth through college. This individual will personally disciple middle school and high school students while building, equipping, and supporting volunteer teams who lead our children's and college ministries. The Student and Family Minister will work closely with the Senior Minister and elders to develop a cohesive strategy for helping young people become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. 

Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities Breakdown

Children's Ministry (Birth–5th Grade) roughly 20% of Time

• Recruit, train, encourage, and retain volunteers.
• Ensure all classes are adequately staffed.
• Select or recommend curriculum in coordination with church leadership.
• Provide leadership and support to children's ministry volunteers.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and spiritually engaging environment.
• Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children.

Student Ministry (Grades 6–12) roughly 50% of Time

• Teach weekly Bible classes.
• Develop meaningful relationships with students.
• Plan devotionals, retreats, service projects, and fellowship activities.
• Encourage students toward baptism, discipleship, and Christian leadership.
• Mentor students individually.
• Equip parents to disciple their teenagers.
• Coordinate volunteers who assist with youth ministry.

College Ministry 10% of Time

• Recruit and support volunteers who connect with college students.
• Work alongside the Senior Minister to integrate college students into congregational life.
• Encourage relationships between college students and church families.
• Coordinate Bible studies, small groups, or fellowship opportunities as appropriate.

Congregational Responsibilities roughly 20% of Time

• Coordinate and participate in worship services and congregational life.
• Work collaboratively with the Senior Minister, elders, and ministry leaders.
• Help identify and develop future church leaders.
• Assist with church-wide events as needed.
• Teach adult Bible classes periodically.

• Loves building relationships with children, students, parents, and volunteers.
• Able to recruit, train, and encourage volunteers.
• Strong teacher and communicator.
• Organized and self-motivated.
• Team-oriented and collaborative.
• Bachelor's degree in Bible, ministry, or related field preferred (or equivalent ministry experience).
